Marini’s XPRESS 2500 asphalt plant on an Italian motorway worksite
The objective that was set by the Italian government was clear: to complete the Salerno Reggio Calabria motorway, a 40 km stretch running through a mountainous landscape, in less than one year.
That challenge was met by Marini and the Bulfaro Company. 110,000 tons of asphalt, both binder and base, have been laid down over only two and a half months, with regular use of 10% RAP in the mixer and 20% in the dryer, demonstrating the outstanding performance in the recycling and production of RAP of the plant. The use of the Marini plant contributed to the successful and on-time completion of the project.
Marini’s XPRESS plant was chosen because the project required a highly mobile, versatile and productive plant. The XPRESS 2500 provides a high degree of mobility, without sacrificing any of the advantages of a stationary plant, and proved to be the ideal solution for facing this type of demanding operation. A unique feature that distinguishes XPRESS from other plants is its installation without the need for a crane, which was of critical importance given the location of the working area for this project.
